Lead@ML

The Macmillan Learning Leadership Program Lead@ML invests in current managers to strengthen their leadership skills and ensure their continued growth and success. The program goal is to develop leaders who will lead by example through an understanding of their influence and how their daily decisions set the tone for innovation, productivity, employee engagement, equity, inclusion, and, ultimately, ML profitability. Participants in the Lead@ML program will: ● Learn new communication techniques, improving overall skills by using Radical Candor as a framework to better communicate with direct reports and colleagues; using compromise, empathy, and personal influence; facilitating large and small group presentations; and handling difficult interpersonal situations. ● Enhance understanding of their role and influence on Macmillan Learning's company culture, goals, and initiatives; effectively communicate the ML vision to their teams to increase motivation and drive innovation. ● Recognize and apply different models of decision making to enable informed decisions at the leadership, company, and team level that impact short- and long-term strategy. ● Guide employees to develop their skills and reach their career goals through coaching, mentoring, and training using new approaches and resources. ● Analyze financial data to better communicate industry and financial trends, to inform decisions, to negotiate contracts and to drive profitability. ● Increase productivity and efficiency in cross-functional collaboration; acquire diplomatic skills to understand others' goals and points of view while effectively communicating their own to more quickly achieve high level cross-departmental and company-wide goals.
